Northampton police crackdown targets traffic offences

A crackdown has begun in Northampton targeting drivers who commit road traffic offences.

Motorists who are speeding, using a mobile phone, or have passengers not wearing seatbelts will be stopped by police.

Officers will also check for valid insurance, up-to-date tax and MOT.

The operation is aimed at reminding motorists of the dangers they and others face if they break the law while behind the wheel, a spokesman said.
