Paratrooper dies days after Northampton attack

A 20-year-old paratrooper has died after being seriously injured in an attack on a night out.

Rory McWilliams, from Northampton, was attacked in the early hours of 6 February behind Domino's Pizza, in the town's St Peter's Way car park.

He died on Saturday afternoon in the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Two people who were arrested in relation to the attack have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Det Ch Insp Martin Kinchin, of Northamptonshire Police, urged anyone with any information, including anyone who may have helped Mr McWilliams after the attack, to contact police.
