Five Northamptonshire musicians got expert advice at a BBC Introducing masterclass in London.

Accomplished artists and DJs like Zane Lowe, The Kaiser Chiefs and Tinchy Stryder were giving advice to artists.

The event was held at two legendary music studios - Abbey Road and Maida Vale - earlier this month.

Representing Northampton were cellist Mrs Pilgrimm, and songwriters Jon Stolber, Liam Dullaghan, Billy Lockett and Phil Sharp.

Other musicians and BBC Introducing fans were able to watch the whole event live online through the BBC Introducing website.

It is the first year BBC Introducing has held the musicians' masterclass.

BBC Introducing Northampton was lucky enough to see all of its nominated acts get through.

The classes included songwriting tips from Gary Barlow and 6Music presenter Tom Robinson and advice on how to deal with the ups and downs of the industry from The Kaiser Chiefs.

There were live sessions with the likes of Tinchy Stryder.

BBC Introducing Northampton will follow up the event with updates from those who took part to see if the advice really works.
