Police blitz anti-social behaviour in Northamptonshire

A police crackdown on anti-social behaviour is taking place in Northamptonshire over the Easter and royal wedding weekends.

Officers say they have identified hotspots where problems including drunkenness and drug use may occur.

During Operation Laxton they will be mounting high-visibility patrols, carrying out searches, taking under-age drinkers home and seizing alcohol.

Tackling anti-social behaviour is the force's main policing priority.

Supt Gideon Springer said: "We don't want to stop anyone having fun over the holidays, we just want people to be aware of the impact their behaviour may have on others.

"We are committed to finding the most effective and appropriate resolutions to the things that matter to the community."
