Human remains discovered on Northamptonshire farmland

The remains of a man, thought to be aged over 21, have been found in a field in Northamptonshire.

Police were called to farmland at Rothersthorpe on Monday morning after the discovery.

Some clothing, thought to be linked to the discovery of remains, has also been found by police who are treating the death as unexplained.

Officers said they believe the body may have been the field for up to a year.

The clothing found included a grey vest from the Primark brand "Cedarwood State", a pair of boxer shorts with a Peacocks label, and a pair of very worn size eight Nike Air trainers.

Suspicious activity

Supt Glyn Timmin appealed for anyone with information about the discovery to come forward.

He said: "We believe the body to be that of a man and the nature of the investigation, in terms of establishing his identity and how he died, may take some time.

"We are appealing for anyone who might have some information about who the man could be, how he came to die and how he came to be in this field to contact us as a matter of urgency.

"Also, if anyone has been aware of any suspicious activity around this location, then please report it to us."
