A scheme to boost businesses in Wellingborough has officially started work.
Wellingborough's Business Improvement District (BID) became a legal entity on Wednesday.
The scheme will see businesses working together to decide what improvements are needed and how they are going to cost and manage them.
A business plan is drawn up which is voted on by those who are paying for the scheme.
It lasts for a maximum of five years and aims to improve the trading environment and public areas.
Joanna Chapman, who co-ordinates the scheme, said the BID has already been working with local businesses and the Think3e environmental consortium to provide recycling bags for different products.
"Our primary goal is to improve the marketing of the town and remind people about it and create a sense of ownership," she said.
