Crime drops by 13% in Kettering
Crime has gone down 13% in Kettering during April and May this year compared with the same period last year, new police figures show.
Northamptonshire Police said the number of crimes recorded dropped from 1,183 to 1,034.
The number of house burglaries, thefts and robberies reduced 32% from 182 to 124 crimes over the same period.
Insp Richard Aistrop said he was pleased with the figures particularly as Kettering was "a growing town".
"I believe that a proactive approach has been the reason for the success - we've been targeting known offenders and work in collaboration with partner agencies such as the local authorities and probation service," he said.
