An 11-year-old Northamptonshire boy has fought off an abduction attempt as he walked home, police have said.
The incident happened as the boy made his way along the High Street in Roade at about 20:30 BST on Friday.
He told police a man standing by a white Ford Transit van stuck his arm out, blocked his path and told him to get inside.
The boy said he punched the man in the face, knocking him to the ground, and then ran off.
The man is described as white, aged about 50 and of average height and medium build. Police said he was bald and had "big wide eyes".
Det Insp Nick Purdie said: "This is a worrying incident but I would stress that it is the only one we have had.
"I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident or information in relation to any suspicious white van in the Roade area on Friday."
