Northampton Carnival given new date after postponement

A new date has been set for the postponed Northampton Carnival.

Northampton Carnival Arts Consortium (NCAC) said the event would now take place on 14 July.

The carnival, which was supposed to happen on 9 June, was cancelled by organisers because of high winds and heavy rainfall.

Morcea Walker, from the NCAC, said: "We were hoping for an earlier date, but now we have to work out who will be able to join us for the event."

The NCAC said it would contact all stallholders and people taking part in the parade.
