River Nene flood warnings still in place

Eight flood warnings are still in force in Northamptonshire as river levels remain high.

The Environment Agency has issued warnings for the River Nene around Yarwell and from Thorpe Waterville to Eaglethorpe, including Wadenhoe, Oundle, Cotterstock and Tansor.

Areas from Wellingborough to Thrapston and isolated properties from Cogenhoe to Great Doddington are at risk.

Billing Aquadrome and Cogenhoe Mill Caravan Site are also affected.

A warning for the Upper River Nene includes Nether Heyford, Bugbrooke, Bugbrooke Mill, Upton Mill, Horton and Hackleton.

The agency said river levels remained high and would begin to fall slowly over the next few days.

A spokesman said: "The forecast is for further showers of rain but this is not likely to have a major impact on water levels."
