Northamptonshire weather: Snow and fog forecast

More snow was forecast for Northamptonshire the day after nearly 200 schools were closed in the county.

The temperature was expected to dip to -8C (18F) into Tuesday morning with some snow flurries and fog, but mainly hard frost and ice patches.

The Met Office expects the rest of the day to be dry but cloudy once the fog has cleared.

The temperature will peak at 1C (34F) with a chance of further light snow in the evening around Towcester.

About 170 schools across Northamptonshire were closed on Monday, while the county council cancelled its home-to-school transport service and social care help services.
