Plans have been submitted for an engineering firm's new £20m Northampton factory, which could create 70 jobs.

The 38,000 sq ft (3,530 sq m) Cosworth Engineering precision components manufacturing plant is proposed for the southern part of St James Mill Road, joining the firm's current site.

If the plans are approved, work is expected to be completed by August.

Cosworth chief executive Hal Reisiger said it was an investment that showed the company's commitment to the town.

People living nearby can comment on the plans, which are available on Northampton Borough Council's website.
