Northampton man admits manslaughter after brawl death

A 22-year-old has admitted killing a man who died after intervening in a street brawl in Northampton town centre.

George Wedderburn, 61, of Byfield Road, St James, tried to break up the fight in Abington Square, on 17 August.

He received serious head injuries and died in hospital on 23 August.

Daniel Tero, of Burleigh Road, Northampton, pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Northampton Crown Court.

He will be sentenced at the same court on 25 September.
