Man tries to lure children into car in Nottinghamshire

Police are investigating reports of a man trying to lure children into his car in Nottinghamshire.

The two incidents - involving a man in a black Mercedes - happened within a few miles of each other.

The first happened at about 1800 BST on Thursday in Gilt Hill, Kimberley. The second happened at about 0900 BST on Friday on Dovecote Road in Eastwood.

No children were harmed, but police are urging parents to be extra vigilant and to report any unusual activity.

Sgt James Rimmington, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We are taking this matter very seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation.

"At this stage, the driver's intentions are unknown.

"We are increasing patrols in the area to help offer reassurance but we need to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen something."
