Two Nottinghamshire police officers hurt in pursuit

Two police officers were injured when their patrol car collided with a vehicle that failed to stop on a Nottinghamshire road.

The incident happened on David Street, Kirkby in Ashfield at about 0230 BST.

The officers attempted to stop a Ford Mondeo suspected of being involved in a theft. It collided with the police car before mounting the kerb.

One of the officers sustained injuries to his wrist, rib and neck while the other received a minor knee injury.

The Mondeo was later found abandoned in the Morvan Road area of the town.

No-one has been arrested in connection with the incident and police want to speak to any witnesses or anyone with any information.
