Roadworks to get under way in Nottingham

Travellers using Alfreton Road in Nottingham are being advised to allow extra time for journeys as the final stage of improvements is carried out.

It forms part of the Western Gateway project, which aims to regenerate and redevelop routes on the western side of the city.

The city council said it was doing the work during school holidays when traffic levels were quieter.

It is hoped the work will be completed by the end of September.
