New radiotherapy unit in Nottinghm to cut waiting times

Work on a state-of-the-art radiotherapy centre is under way in Nottingham.

The £21m development aims to help cut the time patients wait for cancer treatment at Nottingham City Hospital.

The new facility should open in the autumn to treat 3,000 patients a year.

Dr Keith Langmack said: "We're very excited because it's state-of-the-art equipment and a state-of-the-art facility so we'll be able to provide timely advanced radiotherapy to the people of Nottingham."
