Family is rescued from Worksop house fire

A family has been rescued from a house fire in Nottinghamshire.

Crews were called to Primrose Way, Worksop, in the early hours of the morning to reports a mother and three children were trapped.

Emergency phone operators advised them to shelter in one room close to a window while a fire appliance travelled to the scene.

Firefighters broke into the house and led the family, along with their pets, to safety.

Watch Manager Ian Cooper described the scene: "We broke in the front door and went upstairs and carried the three children out and led the lady out."

The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen.
