Murder squad detectives in Nottingham are continuing their inquiries after a 24-year-old man was shot dead in a back garden in "a targeted attack".
Police were called to the property on Heatherington Gardens, Top Valley, at about 0050 BST on Saturday.
Mark Shaw was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Results of a post-mortem examination will be released later.
A spokeswoman said detectives were following a number of lines of inquiry.
A cordon around the area is set to stay until Monday.
Detectives said the shooting was not a random attack and Mr Shaw is thought to have had a connection to the gunman.
Officers are continuing to carry out high visibility patrols in the area.
Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time to contact them.
