Man charged over Nottingham police car crash

A Nottingham man has been charged over a collision between a car and a police patrol vehicle in the city.

The crash happened when a stolen black Lexus was followed to the junction of Radford Road and Hartley Road after the driver failed to stop for officers late on 20 August.

The man has been charged with dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving while disqualified.

The 29-year-old is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court later.

He is also charged with receiving stolen goods and possession of cannabis.

A police officer suffered minor injuries in the collision.

Three girls who were in the Lexus have been released without charge and an 18-year-old man has been bailed pending further inquiries.
