Drivers in Nottingham warned about major road closure

Drivers in Nottingham are being given advanced warning of closures along a major route due to be resurfaced.

The A52 will close at night from the Queen's Medical Centre and Priory roundabout from Monday to Saturday between 6 September and 10 October.

At other times, a 30mph speed limit will be in place and diversions will be in place.

Outbound buses towards Derby will be allowed through the works but inbound routes will be diverted.

Highways Agency manager Leonard Murray said: "We of course appreciate that the A52 is a key route for people travelling in and around Nottingham.

"After comprehensive consultation with various partners, we have agreed a plan for these essential works - including restricting closures to night time only - which will keep disruption to road users to a minimum."
