Nottingham man remanded over handbag robbery

A 51-year-old man has been remanded in custody at Nottingham Magistrates' Court after being charged with robbing a 94-year-old woman of her handbag.

Howard Saunderson, of Exton Road, Sherwood, is charged with grabbing the woman's handbag as she waited for a bus in Nottingham, on Monday morning.

She is still in hospital being treated for facial injuries.

Gemma Cooper, 28, of no fixed abode was charged with receiving stolen goods. She was released on bail.

Mr Saunderson was also charged with stealing a handbag from an elderly woman on Byron Grove in Sherwood on 18 September.
