Emergency crews are damping down at the scene of a large fire in Nottinghamshire, 24 hours after the incident was first reported.

Firefighters were called to a site on Trent Lane, Newark, on Monday morning after about 400 cubic metres of timber and rubbish caught light.

Nearby residents with asthma or breathing problems have been advised to avoid breathing in the smoke.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and no one was injured in the incident.
