Rush-hour crash in Plumtree leaves two dead


Police have named two drivers killed in a three-vehicle crash in a Nottinghamshire village.

Ashley Wakelin, 21, from Aspley in Nottingham, and Gina Hibberd, 34, from Shepshead in Loughborough, died at the scene in Bradmore Lane, Plumtree.

The collision at rush hour on Tuesday morning involved Mr Wakelin's Peugeot 206, Ms Hibberd's Ford Mondeo, and an Audi A4.

The Audi driver, a Nottingham man, suffered minor injuries.

Any witnesses to the crash, which happened at about 0820 BST, should contact police.
