Post office security van robbed at gunpoint in Wollaton

Two masked men armed with a gun have held up a post office security van in Nottingham.

One of the guards was taken to hospital following the incident outside the Co-op store, Trowell Road, in Wollaton, at about 1220 BST on Thursday.

The robbers stole an undisclosed amount of cash before escaping in a waiting car. They drove off towards Coventry Lane.

The security guard was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre for treatment.

His injuries are not believed to be serious.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
