Man arrested over seven-car crash in Nottingham

A man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving at the scene of a seven-vehicle crash on a Nottingham road, police said.

Officers were called to the A52 near Bardills Island at about 1940 BST on Saturday following reports of a crash.

One person had minor injuries, another suffered whiplash, one was treated for a suspected broken leg and another for a suspected fractured pelvis.

The man, 39, was questioned by police and later released on bail.

The road was closed westbound until about 2330 BST while police examined the scene and the vehicles were recovered.
