Snow and ice has been causing disruption across Nottinghamshire, with more than 90 schools closed and driving conditions difficult in some areas.

Motorists were being urged to take care in badly affected areas such as Sutton in Ashfield and West Mapperly.

There was also a report of an accident involving a bus on Rempstone Road, East Leake, on the Leicestershire border.

Traffic on the A1, between the A57 and A52 junctions, was described as hazardous during the morning rush hour.

In addition, some Nottingham bus services are being diverted because of the poor conditions.

Areas affected include the city centre, Ruddington, St Ann's and Bulwell. Details are available on the Nottingham City Transport website.

The county council said refuse collections were also affected in some areas, while Rufford and Sherwood country parks were being closed on Tuesday because of heavy snowfall and difficult driving conditions.

Further snow is forecast to fall throughout the day and into the early hours of Wednesday.
