Man remanded over attack on eight-year-old girl

A 25-year-old man charged with assaulting an eight-year-old girl in Nottingham has been remanded into custody.

The girl was assaulted in a secluded area of Pulley Park, off Hoewood Road in Bulwell, at 1830 GMT on 23 November.

Kieran Joseph Smith is charged with abduction, sexual touching and causing actual bodily harm.

Mr Smith, of Bethnal Walk, Bulwell, will appear before Nottingham magistrates on 16 December.

The victim suffered severe bruising and she and her family are receiving support from specially trained police officers.
