Man charged over Southwell robbery attempt

A man has been charged following an attempted robbery at a service station in Nottinghamshire.

The offence took place at Southwell Green Service Station, in Upton Road, Southwell on Friday.

The 38-year-old man has been charged with attempted robbery and possessing an imitation firearm with intent to commit an offence.

He remains in police custody and is due to appear at Newark Magistrates' Court later.
