Dispersal order for Warsop problem area

  • Published

A dispersal order has been placed on part of a Nottinghamshire town after problems with antisocial behaviour.

There have been more than 400 incidents around Church Street in Warsop between April and October, including a BB gun being fired into a shop.

The order, approved by Mansfield District Council, allows police to break up groups of two or more they judge to be harassing the public.

It is in force for six months starting during the second week of 2011.

Between April and October, Church Street residents called the police 93 times with complaints ranging from noise and damage to underage drinking and suspected drug abuse.
