Police are treating a fire which broke out at a block of flats in Nottingham on Christmas Eve as arson.

Emergency crews were called to the fire at Argyle Court, on Argyle Street, Radford, at about 2115 GMT.

Firefighters from Stockhill and city centre stations spent more than three hours bringing the fire under control.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said residents in surrounding properties were evacuated from their homes.
