Man 'critical' after shooting in Nottingham

A 24-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after being shot in Nottingham.

Police were called to a property in Westville Gardens in St Ann's at about 0120 GMT on Sunday following reports that a man had been shot.

The man was taken by ambulance to the Queen's Medical Centre where he had emergency surgery.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said his condition was described as critical.

The area has been cordoned off while officers carry out a forensic investigation.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
