Calverton homes evacuated after gas leak

Nine homes were evacuated in a Nottinghamshire village because of a gas leak.

Nottinghamshire Police and National Grid workers were called to Crookdole Lane in Calverton in the early hours of Monday.

Residents were taken to the local police station while the leak was repaired and the gas allowed to disperse.

They returned to their homes a few hours later.
