Victim Support in Nottinghamshire is urging people not to suffer in silence over the festive period.
The charity will have staff and volunteers handling phone lines over the next week to offer support and advice.
Ian Firth from Victim Support said: "Violence can increase with people out revelling in the evenings.
"Domestic violence can rise because of pressure on families from relationships."
And he added that burglaries remained a problem "because people have new gifts" which can attract thieves.
