A Nottinghamshire project which aims to stop lorries from breaking weight restrictions could be expanded.
The community lorry watch scheme was launched by Papplewick and Linby parish councils in 2010.
The lorry watch scheme involves residents recording the details of vehicles they think are over the legal weight limit.
The initiative was set up by parish councillors with help from county council trading standards officers.
County and parish officials said the scheme has had a positive impact and could be expanded to other areas of the county.
The authority said drivers face a £1,000 fine if they ignore the restrictions.
