Police raid St Ann's houses over shooting

Three houses have been raided in Nottingham in connection with a shooting which left a man seriously injured.

A 24-year-old man from Nottingham remains in a critical but stable condition after being shot on Boxing Day at Westville Gardens in St Ann's.

No one was arrested during the raids but several items, including several vehicles, have been seized.

Police are still appealing for anyone with any information to contact them.

'Isolated incident'

Det Ch Insp Tony Heydon, from Nottinghamshire Police, said more than 30 people had been interviewed, many of whom had attended a party on Westville Gardens at about the time of the shooting.

"However, I would urge anyone else who was at the party, or anyone with information, particularly around vehicles seen in the area, to come forward," he added.

"The public can rest assured this was an isolated incident and it is not being connected with any other crime or issue in Nottingham."

High visibility officers are patrolling the St Ann's area to offer reassurance to residents and police are continuing with house-to-house inquiries.
