Two men have robbed a Nottingham newsagent, armed with what police believe was a handgun.

The men, with black scarves over their faces, forced their way into Wollaton News on Trowell Road at about 1900 GMT on Wednesday, as the shop was closing.

One of them grabbed the cash register and both ran out towards Balloon Woods. No one was injured.

The empty till was found in Linsdale Close. A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

He is currently being questioned by detectives.

Anyone with information about the robbery should contact Nottinghamshire Police.
