Fire engine on 999 call crashes into shop in Nottingham

An investigation is under way after a fire engine responding to an emergency call crashed into a fast food outlet in Nottingham.

The fire engine hit the building, at the junction of Western Boulevard and the A610 Nuthall Road, at about 0920 GMT.

One of the crew and a member of the public were treated by paramedics at the scene but not taken to hospital.

A structural engineer has been called to assess the state of the building.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has started its own investigation into what happened.

No other vehicles were involved.
