Marked police car on 999 call crashes in Nottingham

Two police officers have been taken to hospital after their marked car crashed while on a 999 call in Nottingham.

The car came off the A610 Nuthall Road in Aspley at 0245 GMT and hit a brick wall and street furniture.

The driver sustained only minor injuries but the second officer suffered multiple fractures, although these are not life threatening.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and an investigation has started. The road reopened at 0630 GMT.

The officers were not in pursuit of another vehicle, Nottinghamshire Police said.
