A man tackled a masked intruder who threatened him with a knife after forcing his way into a house in Nottingham.

The struggle broke out when the man refused to hand over money and his mobile phone, on Tuesday night.

The suspect, whose face was covered with a balaclava, ran empty-handed from the house on Fleming Gardens, Clifton.

He is described as 5ft 9in (1.75m) tall, of stocky build, and was wearing dark clothing.

The man, who had opened his front door on hearing knocks, sustained a minor injury to his arm and was treated by a paramedic.
