Two men have been charged with attempted murder and blackmail after a man was badly injured in an assault in Nottinghamshire.
The 31-year-old victim is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after the attack in Newark on Wednesday.
Two men, aged 27 and 29, were charged on Friday and were due to appear at Newark Magistrates Court on Saturday.
Six other men, aged between 20 and 40, who were arrested in connection with the attack have been bailed.
Detectives are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the assault, which happened at the rear of Friary Villas, off Sleaford Road, at about 0545 BST.
