Police are investigating the cause of a fire in Nottingham which led to the evacuation of up to 80 homes.

Crews were called to a series of single storey buildings in Nursery Drive, Carlton, at 1930 BST on Wednesday.

A 100-metre exclusion zone was put in place as a safety precaution - because of compressed air cylinders in the building.

Families living nearby were sent to the nearby Heron Centre, but residents were allowed back home just before midnight.

Richard Cropley, of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue, said: "We responded to a small fire in an outhouse within this area and as the fire and rescue service were tackling the blaze it quickly spread."
