Man sought over Kirk Hallam attack on girl

A 12-year-old girl has been robbed as she walked down a hill in Derbyshire.

She was grabbed near the Nutbrook Trail at Kirk Hallam at about 1610 BST on Saturday by a man who pulled her down the slope and stole her mobile phone.

The girl kicked him on the leg and he ran off after a dog appeared.

Det Sgt Sandra Gibbs said: "We are treating this assault very seriously. It is extremely unusual for a young girl to be approached in this way."

The offender is described as white, about 5ft 7in tall, thin, with stubble.

He wore a hood that came over his eyes, with goggle-like eye-holes, a black jacket, baggy jeans, black gloves and white trainers.
