Three incidents in Nottingham where a man tried to force girls to go with him have prompted a warning from police.

The first occurred in Foxhill Road, Carlton, on Monday afternoon and the second on Bulwell Forest golf course at a similar time.

The third happened on Standhill Road, also in Carlton, at about 0830 BST and all involved a man either grabbing or calling to the girls.

Officers have asked teachers and parents to be extra vigilant.

CCTV checks

The incident in Foxhill Road saw a 14-year-old grabbed after she was told to get into a dark-coloured car.

At Bulwell golf course, the suspect grabbed a 14-year-old's bag and told her to "come here". In Standhill Road, an 11-year-old was told to get into a dark-coloured car.

The girls managed to break away and run off but were left shaken.

In each case the man was described as black, aged from late 20s to 40 and wearing dark clothing.

Police said they were carrying out CCTV checks and will be undertaking house-to-house inquiries. High visibility patrols are also being organised around Carlton and Bulwell.
