Appeal to woman over fatal A1 cyclist crash

Police in Nottinghamshire are urging a woman they believe may have witnessed a fatal crash on the A1 to contact them.

Cyclist Andrew Ridsdale, 43, from West Yorkshire, was taking part in a time trial on 18 March when he was in collision with an HGV on the A1.

Detectives want to speak to anyone who saw the collision at about 08:55 GMT near Blyth, in particular a woman taken home by a driver in a hi-vis vest.

The woman called in at Flo's Cafe and said she had witnessed the crash.

The 42-year-old HGV driver was arrested for death by dangerous driving and was later released on bail.
