Leicester cyclist dies after crash with lorry on A1

A cyclist has died after being involved in a crash on the A1, Nottinghamshire Police confirmed.

Stephen Warrington, 60, from Leicester, was in collision with a lorry on the northbound carriageway of the A1 near Blyth at 04:15 BST on Friday.

Mr Warrington was taken to Bassetlaw District Hospital for treatment but he later died.

Nottinghamshire Police have urged anyone who may have information about the crash to contact them.

The northbound carriageway was closed for several hours while preliminary inquiries took place and reopened just after 13:00 BST.
