A 19-year-old man has denied the rape and wounding of a woman in a Nottingham park.

The 22-year-old woman, who sustained serious facial injuries, was attacked in Forest Recreation Ground after a night out with friends on 10 December.

At Nottingham Crown Court, Joseph Michael Moran, of Walker Street, Sneinton, pleaded not guilty to both charges and was remanded into custody.

He is due to stand trial on 28 May at the same court.

Police are still appealing to anyone who was in the area of Mansfield Road, adjacent to the Forest Recreation Ground, between 03:00 GMT and 05:00 GMT on the night of the attack to contact them.
