Detectives investigating the gun killing of a man at a Nottingham pub have appealed for more information about vehicles suspects may have used.

Malakai McKenzie, 19, from Nottingham, was shot at The Hubb car park, in Sherwood, at about 03:30 BST last Saturday.

The teenager was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died later.

Nottinghamshire Police said two men, 19 and 17, arrested in connection with the murder, have been released on bail.

'Group gathered'

Det Ch Insp Tony Heydon, senior investigating officer, said four addresses have been searched and several vehicles seized for forensic examinations.

"[But] we still want to hear from people who have information about the vehicles the suspects may have got into after leaving the car park at The Hubb," he said.

"The message from Malakai's family is clear - they want justice for their son and we are determined that this will happen."

Detectives believe more than one person was involved in the murder and that the offenders could have gathered in and around the area before driving to the pub.

"The suspects could have been in the area of Perry Road and Nottingham Prison, but certainly within half a mile of The Hubb public house," Det Ch Insp Heydon said.

If anyone saw people in those areas in the early hours of Saturday morning "congregating together and getting into vehicles" they should contact the police.
