Nottinghamshire residents await poll results

Residents in Nottingham have voted to decide whether the city should have an elected mayor.

Voters in Bassetlaw have also been to the polls in local elections, with one third of the district council's seats being contested.

Currently under Labour control, 16 seats at Bassetlaw District Council were up for election.

Both sets of votes are being counted overnight after the polls closed at 22:00 BST.
