River Trent body confirmed as missing Sneinton man

A body found in the River Trent in Nottingham has been identified as a man from Sneinton, according to police.

A major operation, including underwater and riverside searches, was launched when a man was seen entering the water in the Meadows on 14 May.

Ten days later, a body was found in the Colwick area.

Officers said it had now been identified as that of 45-year-old Simon Leivers. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
